Writers' Forum members had a reading session at the garden behind the English Department on 27th January 2013. Visiting writers Nabina Das, Debra Castillo, Binu Karunakaran and Sreelatha Chakravarthy read out from their work and talked about literary festivals, their career as writers, writing residencies and their upcoming books. Club coordinators Jose Varghese and Aravind Nair read out their work as well, and the forum members, Jude Lopez, Lissy Jose, Rosemary Tom, Ahalya and Dayana joined in with poems, short stories, excerpts from their novels and flash fiction. Sister Myrrah, a special guest, talked about the influence of the mystic poet Teresa of Avila (St.Teresa of Jesus) had in her life and her own ambition to become a poet. The readings would trigger her passion, she said. The college principal Fr.Prasant Palackappilil was also present, and he talked about his environmental concerns and revealed that he was petting with the idea of writing a novel based on the theme.
